Samantha & Anthony
We started chatting on eharmony about a week before we met, with our first date being at a local coffee shop. On our second date we went to a local hotel that had karaoke, so I sang a song just to impress.
Our engagement was the biggest – Samantha felt safe and secure, and our relationship went to another level. It was even better than I expected. It was at Christmas, in Queensland, at the tallest building on the Gold Coast called SkyPoint. I popped the question to Samantha after we had dinner, then spent Christmas there with family. We’re getting married in Adelaide on Semaphore Beach (Samantha’s a beach girl) and are planning a lovely reception on the lake.
Our experience has been one of working together, learning some lessons and supporting each other. There was a lot to work through – both of us had come to the relationship with some sort of trauma. I had two boys and was separated, while Samantha was a widow with two young kids; she unfortunately lost her first husband to cancer and it hasn’t been an easy journey for her. Her dad is now 76 and didn’t get a chance to see her get married, but this time he will. He was in tears when I asked for her hand in marriage. We can’t wait. After 10 years, we’ve come out on the other side happier than ever!
